The REACCH project was initiated in 2011 to ensure sustainable cereal production in the inland Pacific Northwest. The project was led by an interdisciplinary team of scientists and other professionals from three land grant institutions and the USDA Agricultural Research Service, with funding from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s Climate Variability and Change Program.

This long-term cropping systems study seeks to evaluate annual and/or
diversified crop rotations in what is traditionally a winter-wheat summer
fallow system. Located in Ritzville, Washington, with an annual rainfall of
11 inches. Pre- and...
to document the spatial and temporal arrival of pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon
pisum) into the Palouse region as an aid to understanding pest and virus
risks in legume crops. The data can be related to weather patterns and
geographic and land use...
to document the populations of pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) in legume
crops and determine the temporal and spatial variation in their abundance.
These can be related to landscape and weather variables and also the arrival
patterns as measured...
Our team has installed five eddy covariance (EC) flux towers to continuously
monitor fluxes of CO2, H2O, and energy. at 5 sites in different
agroecological zones across the region. The towers were deployed beginning in
summer, 2011. The towers...
The images collected here are images from a rhizotron study conducted in
Pullman, WA. The study looks at comparing the fertilizer toxicity zone
immediately surrounding a band of Ammonium Sulfate fertilizer and Urea
fertilizer. The crop species...
Climate variability and anthropogenic climate change present challenges in
achieving sustainable agriculture. One of the challenges in maintaining a
healthy agroecological system is abundant topsoil and limited soil erosion.
In the Inland...
This folder contains genotyping data for Bromus tectorum accessions collected
throughout the PNW small grain production region. Data was obtained using a
reduced representation genotype-by-sequencing (GBS) approach to identifying
SNP molecular...
